A Passion for Success:The European Meetings and Events Conference Ignites
the Industry Even an uncertain economic climate could not abate the passion of our industry as meeting and events professionals from all over Europe and the world gathered in Torino. They came for the wide-ranging programme and great hospitality and what they got in return was a worthwhile return on investment.
Let’s take a look at the highlights:
Watch the Opening General Session Online
In this opening presentation, Paul Bridle shared his global perspective on the way businesses evolve and, most importantly, how leaders will need to evolve as well. This is one video you won’t want to miss. Our industry is at a crossroads, and MPI is determined to keep information flowing and the energy of our community channeled towards growth and positive change.
BS 8901 Phase 1 & Phase 2 Compliant – Again!
The European Meetings and Events Conference is well on the way towards earning BS 8901 certification for the second year in a row. It’s a big goal and a difficult process, but once again the conference passed both Phase 1 (planning) and Phase 2 (implementation) third-party sustainable event certification.
Grazie Torino
As a historical yet modern, refined and beautiful city, Torino was an inspiring host city for our conference attendees and truly showcased its legendary passion for the very best in fine food, wines, fashion and architecture. Many thanks to all our local and global sponsors and partners for an unforgettable event.

MPI would like to thank our Host Committee and Sponsors for their support at the European Meetings and Events Conference.
Commitment to Europe
The European region supports some of the world’s most robust economies, and the meetings and events industry is a vital part of this business sector. Its fitting to bring the MPI International Community back to one of its strongest foundations in Europe where it all began with the first European MPI Chapter founded in 1991. Since those early days, the European MPI Community has grown from strength to strength and in Italy alone from 0 to over 250 members on the local level, the second largest chapter in Europe.
